Join me for a 6-day Northumberland road trip in my old VW T4 campervan, exploring the stunning North East England coastline, the Cheviot Hills and the Scottish Borders. Experience real UK van life and campervan camping, filmed with natural sounds, no background music and the simple pleasure of life on the road. Over six days and five nights, Bruno my Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I travel from South Lincolnshire through North Yorkshire and Northumberland, with a little detour into Scotland. Our autumn campervan adventure begins with a rainy overnight stop in Boroughbridge, where I cook a steak and mushroom roll in the Meat Wagon. Then it's north to Fontburn Reservoir for a freezing, windswept night with friends, a few drinks and conversations lasting until 2am. Next, Andy Wardle joins me for a laughter-filled drive in the old Volkswagen T4 to Berwick-upon-Tweed, where we spend our third night. We cross the Scottish border to explore the fishing town of Eyemouth, where Bruno and I enjoy a wander before I tuck into a massive portion of fish and chips with curry sauce. Back in Northumberland, we head into the Cheviot Hills to hike Ros Castle and spend the night camping beneath the hill. The following morning rewards us with a spectacular sunrise before we begin the journey south, stopping once more at a £5 overnight car park in Boroughbridge. A DIFFERENT KIND OF VAN LIFE FILM This Meat Manifesto road trip is a fly-on-the-wall campervan documentary, capturing the real moments of a six-day adventure. A slower, more immersive look at life on the road, with natural conversations, peaceful scenery and the everyday sounds of travelling in an old VW campervan. No background music, no manufactured drama and no rushing from one destination to the next.. Just the sound of my 24-year-old Volkswagen Transporter T4 diesel engine, the wind and rain, quiet mornings, campervan cooking, countryside walks, conversations with friends and the freedom of the open road. Whether you enjoy VW campervans, UK road trips, Northumberland camping, peaceful travel films or simply watching everyday life in an old campervan, put the kettle on, get comfortable and join us for the journey.
