Veteran Kannada actor Anant Nag has received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema and a career spanning more than five decades. The honour was presented during the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony held on September 22, 2026, at Ekta Nagar in Kevadia, Gujarat. The ceremony was held outside New Delhi for the first time, with the Statue of Unity providing the backdrop for the historic event. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award to Anant Nag. The veteran actor has made a lasting contribution to Kannada and Indian cinema through a career spanning more than five decades.
