Reah : Seek my face in Elul

We recite in the month of Elul the “מזמור לדוד הוי' אורי” (“A Psalm of David: The Lord is my light”). The Psalm includes the verse “לך אמר לבי בקשו פני” (“To You my heart has said: Seek My face”). Seeking represents the service of Elul. We are told in parshas Reah about how to serve and seek his face. This service starts in the Elul period (The King in the field and continues past Rosh Hashano and beyond (the Palace). Having met & found the King why do we continue?
