Who Are We To Stand In God's Way?

Churches are full of people who would never choose each other- But God chooses us for each other. Who are we - as Peter says- to stand in God’s way?! If we stand in God’s way by continuing to label people “unclean” and by choosing who’s in and who’s out- we will be actively harming others- and we will also be harming ourselves. We will be missing the beautiful, expansive story Jesus told. We will be missing his challenge for us to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. This Doesn’t mean it won’t be hard or messy sometimes-It will be. But if left to our own devices- We’d choose the easy road. The story of Simon Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10 and 11 reminds us that this is the road that leads to life. God chooses us for each other. Who are we to stand in God’s way?
