Fort Edmonton Park Train Diesel Switcher Locomotive 42 in Action Arriving at the Main Train Station

We all know that at Fort Edmonton Park in Edmonton Alberta there is a historic Edmonton Yukon and Pacific Railway Train that loops around the park featuring a 1919 Baldwin Steam Locomotive 107 that pulls the train cars. But at the end of August 2026 something rare occurred with the train. On Thursday August 27th a safety valve on the 1919 Baldwin Steam Locomotive 107 got stuck resulting in that locomotive being temporarily decommissioned for a few days to get repaired. During that time a Diesel Switcher Locomotive was brought in to pull the train ensuring the train rides kept going at Fort Edmonton Park while the steam locomotive repairs are taking place.
