Deformation of polymers

When polymers deform they typically follow several stages including elongation of amorphous sections, alignment of crystalline regions, break up of crystalline regions, overall alignment. Stress relaxation occurs due to creep over time. The polymer deformation will be a function of crystallization and molecular weight as well as heat treatment.
