What does it truly mean to be connected to something greater than ourselves? In John 15, Jesus paints one of the most vivid and personal pictures of our relationship with God, declaring himself the true vine and inviting us to abide in him as branches. This message takes us deep into that imagery, reminding us that fruitfulness in our lives is not something we manufacture through sheer willpower or religious effort. It flows naturally when we are genuinely connected to the source of life himself. Just as a branch cut off from its tree withers and dies, we are reminded that apart from Christ, we can do nothing of lasting spiritual value. But the flip side of that truth is breathtaking: when we remain in him, the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, and more, begins to grow in and through us almost organically. This is not a message about trying harder. It is an invitation to dwell closer. As we reflect on what it means to abide, we are challenged to examine whether our connection to Christ is genuine and growing, and to discover the abundant life that comes when we let him work freely through us.
