PokéFandom Says: Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version take place in the Unova region, a land located far away from the regions featured in previous Pokémon games. Unova is a predominantly industrialised region, featuring large cities, factories, bridges, train tracks, forests and even a desert. The games introduced 156 brand-new Pokémon, more than any previous generation at the time. Unlike previous generations, none of these Pokémon are evolutions or pre-evolutions of Pokémon from earlier generations, meaning players encounter an entirely new Pokédex during the main adventure. The story follows a new protagonist as they travel across Unova, taking on the region's eight Pokémon Gyms before challenging the Pokémon League. Along the way, the player encounters Team Plasma, a mysterious organisation whose goal is to liberate Pokémon from their trainers. Pokémon Black and White also introduced several new battle mechanics and visual changes. Pokémon are constantly animated during battles, while the camera can move and zoom depending on the attack being used. The games also introduced Triple Battles and Rotation Battles, alongside Double Wild Battles and various new moves and battle mechanics. The Unova region contains fourteen major cities and landmarks alongside numerous routes and smaller areas to explore. Because of its distance from the previous regions, the journey begins again at Route 1, with the majority of Pokémon encountered during the main story being those introduced in Generation V. And now, we're taking that adventure and adding one of Pokémon's most infamous challenges... The Nuzlocke. Can we make it through all eight Gyms, defeat Team Plasma, survive the Pokémon League and become the Champion without losing our entire team? There's only one way to find out!
