Fraser Morgan - Boomtown Diary: Realities of Life on the Road as an Independent Artist

I’ve had the absolute honour of playing Boomtown THREE times now, and it’s still one of my favourite festivals in the world!!❤️ So I wanted to make a proper little diary of what it’s actually like being there as an independent artist. However I also wanted to show the side that no one else sees: the tired boy who hasn’t been home much. This year I played 31 festivals (and that’s not including the other 60+ shows), and because I’m completely independent, almost all of what happens behind the scenes is done by me too. I book the shows. I organise the travel. I sort the merch. I run the website. I promote the gigs. I answer the emails. And occasionally I even remember I’m a musician! I absolutely love this life and I wouldn’t swap it for anything in the world, however I wanted this video to show both sides of it. The incredible privilege of getting to play somewhere like Boomtown, alongside the slightly chaotic reality of trying to build a career in music independently.
