SPEAKER SHOOTOUT!! by DC Vision Studio

*NEW REVISED VERSION** Marshall JVM410H (Heavily modd-ed, not exactly sure of all of the mods because the amp is on loan courtesy of Lance "The Tone Doctor". It's one of his personal amps that sounds fantastic on every channel!) 1) EMINENCE SWAMP THANG (150 WATTS) 2) CELESTION G12M-70 (70 WATTS) 3) EMINENCE WIZARD (75 WATTS) 4) EMINENCE DELTALITE II NEO w/ HEMP CONE (250 WATTS) *ALL 8 Ohms** ***Song I'm playing to is "Bird in Hand - Sacred Mother Tongue"********** (I tried to isolate the guitar's main frequency on the original song and just drop it down to give me some room to record over) This is the results I just mixed down from all 4 speakers. I tried to show, not only the differences in each speaker's tone, but also how the panning affects it as well. Each speaker was recorded once, but I panned 3 versions of each speaker, LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT (obviously). And, tried to show how each speaker would "sit in the mix", so to speak. Really that's what it boils down to.... right? If it sounds right with the rest of the music, then it works. There are actually 5 examples because the Delta lite II Neo was so dark and lower volume that I mixed another track for comparison with a BBE D82 with the "process control" boosted to brighten it up. It's also 3db hotter. All speakers were recorded using a Schecter Damien Platinum neck-thru with EMG 81/85- and 11–54-gauge strings. Mic is a Shure SM57 placed halfway between the dust cap and speaker edge about 1-1/2" away. And, all tracks except for the last were recorded completely flat with NO EQ or enhancement! I really can't understand when someone does a "Speaker Shootout" and they doctor the tones. To me, that defeats the purpose. **editor's note: I did go back and do a little eq to the mix to "clear it up" a little** I plan to do another video soon.........so STAY TUNED!
