The Mission
Today's Sunday morning edit takes us out to Centennial for an early morning battle against a rapidly climbing thermometer. Dropping in at 7:30 AM, the air was already sitting at a warm 80 degrees, spiking to a heavy 90 degrees by the time the hour-long session wrapped up. The primary mission was to lock back into front boardslides on the park’s perfect low flat bar, using the terrain to rebuild the muscle memory needed to re-re-learn them.
The Environment & Mindset
Stepping back onto a spot that used to be my main park brings a heavy wave of mental friction. The layout holds deep technical familiarity, which instantly sparked distractions, tempting me into random lines and warm-up tricks both before and after the flat bar work. Filtering out that nostalgic static requires strict self-talk, forcing a busy adult skate mind to ignore the side quests, accept the escalating physical exhaustion of the morning heat, and trust the safe learning approach on a single iron rail.
The Outcome
It was a high-repetition, sweaty battle that took a heavy physical tax as the air temperature soared. While the early distractions burned through some physical stamina, hitting the flat bar with absolute commitment yielded some incredibly rewarding progression clips on the front boards. We walked away from Centennial with the trick much closer to locked in, leaving the rail completely healthy with ground safely won.
Production Notes: Multiple in-session camera angles used to track the action.
Keep chipping away.
