Is FFXIV Worth Playing in 2026

I started FFXIV this year as a newer player, so I’m not answering this as someone who has been caught up for years. I’m answering it from the perspective of someone actually going through the new-player experience right now. FFXIV is huge. The story is massive, the MSQ can feel overwhelming, and the game does not always explain everything clearly. But it also has a strong world, a helpful community, tons of content, solo-friendly tools like Duty Support, and a new expansion on the horizon with Evercold. So is FFXIV still worth starting in 2026? My answer is: yes, but not for everyone.
