I Was Homeless In My 40s — Now I'm A Self-Funded Retiree | Paul Marsden

In his 40s, Paul Marsden was living in a van — working two and three jobs to clear the debt he'd taken on so his family could stay in their home. He hadn't walked away from God. "You only yell at somebody you know is there." Paul shares the simple prayers that carried him ("God, find me a safe place to sleep"), what actually helps someone doing it tough, meeting his wife while still living in his van, and how together they started from scratch — buying their first house with no money down, building a portfolio of positively geared property, and never buying anything they couldn't pay cash for. By 2020 they were self-funded retirees. Then the question every successful person faces: when is enough, enough? And why Paul now pours his time into Food for Thought — business dinners that are really an outreach. A story of faith, grit and stewardship you won't forget. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 Cold open 00:28 Kingdom Business Operators intro 00:50 Welcome: Paul's story 02:01 Faith foundations: growing up on the land 05:30 Leaving school at 15 09:22 When the marriage ended 14:09 Homeless: living in a van 19:11 Why not stay with a friend?
