The Walk

When creating this project, the biggest difficulty was creating both interesting visuals and a clear story, when the premise is simply a character walking. Thankfully I accomplished both. The latter was the most difficult, but it was accomplished through sound design and lighting. The opening shots are brightly lit and accompanied by a peaceful nature ambience. These aspects change over the course of the film, ending with a dark final scene, with a droning and unuatural ambience. Additionally, we initially start in a populated area, until the protagonist winds up in an isolated area. This absence of people signals mystery and danger. In terms of pure composition, each shot exploits leading lines frequently. And most are wide shots, which establishes each location. And as a result, allows the audience to feel the sense of progress between each cut.
