By the time I received them, the trees had already begun to shed their leaves—or had already lost them entirely. After repotting, I kept them outdoors; however, due to the exceptionally cold winter and the small size of the pots, I had to bring them inside for brief periods. The dwarf mulberry sprouted twice—once in late autumn and again during a mid-winter warm spell—but the new shoots were killed by the cold both times. Despite this, it still produced about a dozen mulberries this year. After sprouting this year, the red mulberry grew vigorously, developed many branches, and bore fruit. The white mulberry was the smallest of the three; while it grew significantly taller and larger this year, it did not produce any fruit.
