#startrek #starships #startrekbridgecommander Lore: L-24 Komo Val Refit (Ever Victorious) Battleship In the turbulent era following the Khitomer Accords and the rapid advancement of Federation starship technology, the Klingon Empire recognized the need to maintain superiority along contested borders. The original L-24 Komo Val-class ("Always in Victory") had served as the Empire's premier response to the Federation's Excelsior class heavy cruisers. As Starfleet rolled out advanced refits of the Excelsior design, exemplified by the USS Enterprise-B with enhanced tactical systems, improved shielding, superior sensors for tracking cloaked vessels and refined impulse and warp propulsion, the Klingon Defense Force initiated a modernization program for its aging L-24 fleet. The resulting L-24 Refit (sometimes designated L-24E or similar in intelligence reports) was engineered specifically to neutralize the strengths of these upgraded Federation capital ships. A groundbreaking addition to the refit was the Multi-Vector Assault Mode capability. The L-24 could separate into its primary battleship hull and a detachable auxiliary warship module. To extend its reach and provide screening, interception, and close-support capabilities against agile Federation craft, the refit carried a squadron of new K'Vok-class Attack Fighters ("Victory Claw"). The L-24 Komo Val Refit reasserted Klingon dominance in heavy ship-to-ship engagements during the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. Deployed as flagships for Defense and Strike Fleets, these vessels patrolled borders with the Federation, Romulans, and others, serving as mobile fortresses capable of planetary assault, fleet command, or multi-vector strikes.
