This channel is dedicated to helping you step by step in relationships before, during, and after—helping individuals and couples navigate conflict, communication, separation, divorce, co-parenting, and rebuilding relationships with confidence. My name is Charles Tant. I have a PhD in social work and over twenty years counselling and mediating. This clip is at the more extreme area of relationship issues, where you have an established or ending relationship and you might be dealing with a partner you suspect is a narsissist, sociopath or psyhopath. We've all been guilty of throwing labels like "narcissist" and "psychopath" around when someone is difficult to deal with. However, these terms are distinct labels that are psychological disorders. Remember also they are not all serial killers like you see in the movies. Indeed many initially come across as charming. We'll be talking about a very common confusion most people face when dealing with a difficult or selfish person. Is this person a narcissist or a sociopath or a psychopath? How do you even know the differences between all these labels when they have too many overlapping features? We'll talk about how to tell the difference between a psychopath, a sociopath, and a narcissist when you are around one. Knowing this distinction is really important so you're better equipped to deal with them. Later in the video, I'm also going to show you how best you can handle relationships with psychopaths and the rest of them. These three terms are often used interchangeably and there are overlaps in their features, but they are distinct clinical identitiies. I'll be discussing some of the red flags and some of the ways they are different. But the most important part to our discussion is starting the journey about what do you do to minimize the harm they cause. Make no mistake they can harm you and others you hold dear. Learn my strategies to start, reinforce and end relationships on good terms.    • Relationship Advice   You might also be interested in my website at http://www.privatecounsellingandmedia...
