Who do you say Jesus is? We asked an Orthodox Jewish man in Washington Square Park a simple question: *“What do you believe about Jesus?”* What followed was an honest, thoughtful, and remarkably respectful conversation about one of the most significant questions in Jewish history: *Who was Jesus...and what should Jewish people make of his identity today?* As the conversation unfolded, we explored some of the very different ways Jewish people understand Jesus, including questions about his Jewishness, his claims, his divinity, and whether belief in him can ever truly fit within Jewish identity. We obviously don’t agree on everything. But that’s exactly what made this conversation so meaningful. This wasn’t a debate about scoring points or proving someone wrong. It was two Jewish perspectives engaging one another seriously, respectfully, and openly around a question that has shaped history for nearly 2,000 years. Whether you’re Jewish, Christian, skeptical, searching, or simply curious about what Jewish people believe about Jesus, we hope this conversation gives you something worth thinking about. *So we’ll ask you the same question: Who do you say Jesus is?* Join the conversation in the comments.
