SECTION. presents Ignez from the Netherlands. Recorded live on our stage at Glitch Festival in Malta. Growing up on the Dutch coast, Ignez found a different kind of escape in Amsterdam's clubs. Nights at Trouw helped turn an early interest in electronic music into something more consuming, while his residency with Eerste Communie gave him room to develop the patient, hypnotic approach that runs through his DJ sets today. His sound keeps a firm rhythmic centre, allowing small changes in texture and atmosphere to carry the music forward. That same instinct led him to start Somov Records, a home for music he wanted to release on his own terms. The label connects his dancefloor work with a broader interest in ambient and experimental sounds. Collaborations with Rødhåd grew out of a longstanding admiration for his music, bringing their shared interest in depth and repetition into the studio. Across these projects, Ignez has kept the focus on how a piece of music feels over time.
