Part three of my gold mining series on opening and hand mining my quartz reef find with an SDC2300 metal detector. In this video I find some nice little gold specimens and show a cross section of the complex structure and geology of this reef and entirely hand dug mine. . So the story here is, in 2011 I found a patch of gold down hill from where the mine is now, dug it out as best a GPX4000 can (pretty well) and followed it up with some trenching where I found a couple of deeper specimens. That led to finding the cap of the reef and I've been digging it on and off since. Part one of the series is here    • Opening my Reef Diggings, Metal Detecting ...   Part two here    • Opening my Reef Diggings, Metal Detecting ...   The reef here is patchy and there are rich pockets with low grade stone around them, probably why the old time miners did not mine it out. There are old workings in other reefs just to the east and about 100 meters to the west of this little mine. Thanks for watching and a shout out to all of you who support this channel and help to keep me keep on making more gold and mining content. Most of the gold from this dig will be listed up for sale on my website https://billingmetals.com.au/ hop over and have a look.
