Qualifications of Elders - Part 1

Robert Moss First of two parts on the "positive" qualifications of elders. Negative qualifications also to come. The church is run by qualified men called elders. The Bible also calls them bishops, shepherds, and overseers. They make decisions that lead each local congregation. The church has no head except Christ and there is no leadership beyond the each local congregation. These men are very important to the work and the future of the church. The Bible lays out criteria or qualifications for elders. They are set out in Titus chapter 1 and I Timothy 3. These qualifications are something that all Christians should strive for. This video covers some of the qualifications and the next video will cover more qualifications. A later video will discuss the "negative" qualifications - things that an elder shouldn't do. This lesson includes desire to be an elder, a man must be blameless, the husband of one wife, must be temperate, sober, have good behavior, be hospitable, apt to teach and patient.
