In Loving Memory of Carla Sue Barrett July 17, 1962 – September 18, 2026 This tribute was created with love to celebrate the beautiful life of our dear Carla — a woman whose faith, friendship, laughter, kindness, and love touched more lives than she probably ever realized. Carla spent so much of her life caring about other people, encouraging them, praying for them, laughing with them, and making sure they knew they mattered. She loved deeply — her husband Jim, her family, her friends, her fur babies, and her faith. She also knew how to enjoy life. 💜 Poker nights, UNO cards, Law & Order, music and trivia, good food, the ocean, roses, purple skies, sweet treats, and simply making memories with the people she loved — those little things became part of the unmistakable fabric of Carla. This video was originally created for Carla's Celebration of Life and contains photographs and memories spanning her 64 years. It is being shared here at the request of friends and loved ones so that those memories can continue to be seen, shared, and treasured. The song “Let Yourself Be Held in Light” was created especially for Carla and for this tribute. Its message says what was sometimes difficult for us to put into words: after a lifetime of carrying and comforting others, Carla could finally lay those burdens down and simply be held. To Carla: You were loved while you were here. You are loved in our memories. And you will be loved in every story, photograph, laugh, poker game, song, and quiet moment that brings you back to us.
