Decade-Long Mystery Finally Solved | Murder Detective 108

79-year-old Joan Albert was found dead in her night clothes in the hall of her Boydlands house on December 16, 2001. Mrs Albert was found dead in her hallway and had suffered at least five stab wounds inflicted with a carving knife from her kitchen. Her brutal murder sparked one of Suffolk's biggest police murder inquiries during which more than 1,000 statements were taken, 750 homes visited and 1,595 vehicles logged. Police also sent out more than 700 letters to Capel residents. The burglar who stabbed the woman to death confessed to the crime after a decade claiming he was the victim of a miscarriage of justice. Simon Hall, 35, was jailed for life in 2003 for the attack on Joan Albert at her home in Capel St Mary, Suffolk. Police said Hall had now admitted his guilt to prison authorities.
