I Destroyed My Hockey Dream. Then I Had to Rebuild My Life.

People ask me all the time if I've always been the person I am today. Absolutely not. Growing up, all I wanted was to play hockey in the NHL. That was my dream, my identity, and the direction I thought my life was heading. Then I made some terrible decisions that changed everything. In this video, I'm sharing my story. The accident that changed my life and affected other people, losing my hockey dream, going to jail, rehab, years of struggling with alcohol and drugs, and constantly trying to get my life back together. For years I knew I was capable of more, but I kept making the same decisions. Eventually, I found 75 Hard, committed to changing my daily habits, and started learning how to actually follow through with the things I said I was going to do. That decision changed the direction of my life. Since then, I've rebuilt my health, completed IRONMAN 70.3, pushed myself through ultramarathons, built businesses, and created Breaking Barriers Building Dreams. It's been years of hard work, mistakes, setbacks, and figuring things out. I wanted to share this because I know there are people out there who feel stuck in the same cycles I used to live in. Maybe you've made some mistakes. Maybe you've lost your direction. Maybe you're doing okay on the outside, but deep down you know you're capable of a lot more. Where you are today doesn't have to be where you stay.
