In this vlog, we take a walk through Chota Maidan Food Street in Nazimabad, Karachi — one of the early food streets of Nazimabad and a place that has been part of the area's food culture for decades. I visited Chota Maidan Food Street around 4 PM, starting from the entrance and walking through the area to explore the different food shops, restaurants and old food spots that are still operating here. Chota Maidan is an interesting part of Nazimabad's food history. Although the "maidan" itself is no longer there in the way people remember it, the name Chota Maidan has remained associated with this food area. Over the years, the area has seen many changes and its old hustle and bustle has reduced compared to the past. But some familiar names are still keeping its food legacy alive. Among the famous food places and shops in the area are Abi Saleh Kheer House, Cafe Abbas, Karim Bakery, Mumtaz Nihari, Mulla Bun Kabab, Kallu Pan Shop, Mehran Rabri and Rasheed Qorma. These aren't just food shops — for many people from Nazimabad, they are connected with old memories, family visits, evening chai, traditional food and the taste of Karachi.
