Starting college is a major transition and strong executive function skills can make all the difference. In this EC Tutoring workshop, Executive Function Coach Rachael Moss, MA, M.Ed., and Sarah Remlinger, M.Ed., share practical strategies to help college students become more independent, organized, and confident. With the fall semester approaching, now is a great time for students and families to think about the executive function skills, habits, and systems needed for a successful transition to college. Rachael and Sarah discuss how students can build stronger executive function skills by learning to: ✓ Manage college email, learning management systems, and syllabi ✓ Keep track of assignments, deadlines, and study time ✓ Plan, prioritize, and break larger projects into manageable steps ✓ Use campus resources like tutoring, writing centers, and academic support ✓ Develop self-advocacy and communication skills ✓ Create systems that support independence and reduce stress ✓ Transfer successful high school strategies into the college environment Whether your student is preparing to start college this fall or is already navigating campus life, these executive function strategies can help them stay organized, manage responsibilities, and build skills that extend far beyond college.
