#AncientHumans #Tobacco #HumanHistory Did Ancient Humans Smoke? Did ancient humans smoke, and how far back does tobacco really go? Four tiny burned seeds, found in an old campfire in the Utah desert, pushed the history of tobacco back by almost 9,000 years. 12,300 years ago, at the end of the Ice Age, hunters roasting ducks by a marsh were already using wild tobacco, long before pipes, cigars or cigarettes existed. In this video, we follow tobacco from that Ice Age fire to sacred Native American ceremonies, to Columbus's sailors in Cuba, and finally to 1700s London, where doctors used tobacco smoke in a very unexpected way to revive drowning people.
