We are getting a pro-rated refund which means we'll get the money back from March 22 to the end of the semester in terms of housing and meal plans, as they want all of us gone by that day. And while I know Harvard and other colleges made students leave earlier than NYU, I think EVERY college needs to understand that not everyone can leave and rushing the moving process will make things worse. This is unfair to a lot of people and I'm lucky enough to be able to drive to my college, but the sudden email (not even phone call) is unacceptable.
