Lexus GS door lock actuator replacement DIY tutorial showing how to remove the door panel and replace the passenger side door lock actuator on a 2016 Lexus GS.
In this video I show how to replace the door lock actuator, including removing the door panel, disconnecting cables, and transferring components to the new actuator.
This procedure is nearly identical for driver and passenger sides, with the only difference being the driver side key cylinder assembly.
This repair includes:
• Removing door panel
• Disconnecting window switch and wiring
• Removing moisture barrier
• Disconnecting door lock cables
• Removing actuator assembly
• Transferring cables to new actuator
• Reinstalling and testing locks
Common symptoms of a failing actuator:
• Door lock not working
• Clicking noise in door
• Lock/unlock failure

Door lock actuators are a common failure on Lexus vehicles.
If your lock is clicking, not locking, or not responding, the actuator is usually the issue.
Driver side has one extra step with the key cylinder, but otherwise the process is the same.
