5 editing tips I wish I knew when I started editing — especially if you’re a beginner. 1. Organise your raw footage before you start editing. Good folders + properly labelled files will save you SO much time. 2. Create an editing workflow before you start. Write down everything you need to add, then figure out the order with ChatGPT or AI if you need to. 3. Watch your video. Then watch it again. And again. Tiny mistakes like black screens, missing music, wrong subtitles, or export errors are so easily avoidable. 4. Don’t delete your raw footage immediately after posting. You never know when a client might ask for changes or when you might be able to repurpose the footage. 5. Don’t panic when you’re asked to do something you’ve never done before. There’s literally a tutorial, tool, or AI solution for almost everything now. Google it. YouTube it. Figure it out. Also, if you’re wondering why my own videos aren’t super heavily edited — I actually prefer a more raw, natural look. That said, I’ve worked on some pretty cool edits too, so if you ever want to see my portfolio, just DM me! If this helped, like, share & subscribe, and come say hi on Instagram: livelifewithaditi
