2 Wings in One?! BGD Kiss2 19m² Parakite Test

I tested the BGD Kiss2 in 19 m² at around 93 kg take-off weight, so close to the top of its 80–95 kg EN-B range. First in paragliding mode, then after converting the risers in parakite mode. Setup: BGD Kiss2 19 m² Take-off weight: approx. 93 kg Wing weight: approx. 2.4 kg Harness: GIN Yeti Extreme 2 Reserve: Deltacross 105 Camera: Insta360 X4 Backpack: 36 L The complete setup, including helmet and jacket, fitted into a 36 L hiking backpack – a big plus for hike & fly. Paragliding Mode: The Kiss2 launches very easily and predictably and feels calm and roll-stable in flight. Trim speed: approx. 40 km/h Best glide: around 7 Brake pressure similar to an Ozone Ultralite 5 Good flare and easy landing Parakite Mode: The launch remains just as easy, even in a slight tailwind. At my weight I reached around 66 km/h hands-up. Compared to a similar-sized Flare Moustache, it feels slightly slower but also more relaxed. Between hands-up and best glide, the controls feel quite soft. Once more brake is applied, the brake pressure becomes very high – almost too high for my taste. The wing remains very roll-stable and handled light turbulence well. For a relaxed wing, the Kiss2 can still build decent energy. Wingovers and spirals are easy to control, and with enough input the wing can also dive quite noticeably. Landing is very manageable, and from my experience it needs only around half to two thirds of the landing distance of a Moustache 2 in a similar size. Certification: 60–80 kg: EN-A 80–95 kg: EN-B Parakite mode: no EN certification, but load tested Conclusion: The Kiss2 feels like a very interesting option for hike & fly pilots who also want to explore parakiting.
