The KTM Klang Valley Double Track (KVDT) Project Impact on Commuters KTM Komuter Batu Caves – Pulau Sebang Line Significant infrastructure work between Salak Selatan and Seremban has led to heavy service reductions starting 18 April 2026. No Train Services: Most train services between MidValley and Seremban/Tampin are suspended during non-peak times. Peak-Only Demand Service: Trains only operate in the primary direction of demand during morning and evening peak hours. No Official Shuttle Buses: Unlike earlier phases, reports from KTM users and community forums indicate that no dedicated bridging buses are currently being provided for the Salak Selatan – Pulau Sebang stretch. Rail Transport Alternatives While KTM Komuter services are reduced, you can still use the rail network with careful planning: Electric Train Service (ETS): The ETS remains the most reliable rail alternative from Pulau Sebang (Tampin) to KL Sentral. Pros: Faster and more comfortable than the Komuter. Cons: Tickets are more expensive and must be booked in advance; Komuter tickets are not valid for ETS. KTM Komuter (Rescheduled): Service frequency on the Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves route is reduced to roughly 30-minute intervals during peak hours only. Critical Gap: There are no Komuter services between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on the Mid Valley to Pulau Sebang and Pulau Sebang to Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) sectors.  Road Transport Alternatives If train timings do not fit your schedule, road-based transport is necessary: Express Buses: You can take express buses from Terminal Bersapadu Selantan (TBS) in KL to the Tampin area. Operators: Companies like MARA Liner and Moraza Express provide routes in this region. Note: Most direct bus services to/from the capital operate via TBS rather than departing from central KL stations like KL Sentral. Intermodal Connection via Kajang/BTS: You can take a bus or limited Komuter service to Kajang to switch to the MRT Kajang Line, or to Bandar Tasek Selatan (TBS) to switch to the LRT Sri Petaling Line or ERL for faster access into the KL city center. Alternative Rail: For travel to Seremban, the ETS (Electric Train Service) remains an option, though schedules have been adjusted to accommodate track closures between 10 PM and 6 AM. General Local Alternatives Demand Responsive Transit (DRT): Rapid KL DRT services are available in certain residential areas to help bridge the "last mile" gap to functioning rail stations. #exploringwalk
