Two Women Who Defeated the Army Men Feared

In the days when Israel had no king, God raised up a woman as a judge. The men of that day were afraid when they saw the strength of Jabin’s army. But a woman named Deborah did not look at the strength of Jabin’s army; instead, she believed that the God they worshipped was the Lord of Hosts, and that no army of Jabin could stand before Him. Therefore, through her, the Lord led a battle and gave them the victory. Sisera—because he severely oppressed the children whom the Lord had chosen as His own—though he was the commander of the greatest army of those days, fled on foot and ultimately met a disgraceful death at the hand of an ordinary woman.
