Virtual Dialogues - Beyond Technical Solutions: Water Governance, Power, Social–Ecological Change

This virtual dialogue was part of EADI Dialogues and took place online on June 10, 2026. This dialogue explored water as a question of governance, power, and social–ecological dynamics rather than solely a technical challenge. Drawing on perspectives from feminist political ecology, sustainable development, and social–ecological systems, the speakers examined how institutions, inequalities, and environmental change shape water governance and access. Together, they highlighted the need for more inclusive, adaptive, and justice-oriented approaches to addressing global water challenges. Speakers: Farhana Sultana – Syracuse University, US Jean Carlo Rodríguez-de-Francisco – German Institute of Development and Sustainability, DE Ariadna Romans i Torrent – University of Amsterdam, NL Learn more about EADI's work, membership, events, and opportunities to engage with our global network on our website: www.eadi.org
