Shree Avalokiteshvara

Shree Avalokiteshvara Shree Avalokiteshvara is one of the most revered Bodhisattvas in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, symbolizing compassion, kindness, and the welfare of all sentient beings. He is regarded as the compassionate Bodhisattva who hears the cries of those in suffering and responds with loving kindness and support. In Nepal, especially within Newar Buddhist culture, Avalokiteshvara holds a deeply significant place. His various manifestations, including Karunamaya, Seto Machindranath, and Arya Avalokiteshvara, are closely associated with religious devotion, festivals, rituals, traditional art, music, and dance. The teachings and symbolism of Avalokiteshvara inspire people to practice compassion, non-violence, selfless service, empathy, and loving-kindness toward all beings. Traditions associated with Avalokiteshvara have also played an important role in preserving and passing down Nepal’s rich Buddhist heritage and the unique cultural traditions of the Newar community from generation to generation. श्री अवलोकितेश्वर देवता श्री अवलोकितेश्वर महायान तथा वज्रयान बौद्ध परम्परामा करुणा, दया र मानव कल्याणका प्रतीकका रूपमा पूजिने एक महत्वपूर्ण बोधिसत्त्व हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँलाई दुःखमा परेका जीवहरूको पुकार सुनी उनीहरूलाई सहायता गर्ने करुणामय बोधिसत्त्वका रूपमा श्रद्धापूर्वक स्मरण गरिन्छ। नेपालको विशेषगरी नेवार बौद्ध संस्कृतिमा अवलोकितेश्वरको स्थान अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण छ। उहाँका विभिन्न स्वरूपहरू—जस्तै करुणामय, सेतो मच्छिन्द्रनाथ तथा आर्यावलोकितेश्वर—धार्मिक आस्था, जात्रा, पूजा, मूर्तिकला, संगीत तथा नृत्य परम्परासँग गहिरो रूपमा जोडिएका छन्। अवलोकितेश्वरको शिक्षाले करुणा, अहिंसा, सेवा, सहानुभूति र सबै प्राणीप्रति मैत्रीभाव राख्न प्रेरणा दिन्छ। उहाँसँग सम्बन्धित धार्मिक तथा सांस्कृतिक परम्पराहरूले नेपालको मौलिक बौद्ध सम्पदा र नेवार संस्कृतिको संरक्षण तथा पुस्तान्तरणमा महत्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्‍याउँदै आएका छन्।
