"I Walk the Line" - Charles Wesley Godwin for Broken Bow sessions

A cover is much more than a rehash of a song when an artist colors it with their own lived experience and emotion. Charles Wesley Godwin adds a longing to “I Walk the Line” that isn’t present in Johnny Cash’s original 1956 recording, replacing Cash’s distinctive, train-like rhythm with soft, resonant fingerpicking. He recounts that the first time he sang it publicly was at a wedding, and you can hear it in the way he softens the edges of an otherwise driving, thumping song. Cash is famously difficult to cover, and few renditions are as sincere and original as Godwin’s. It was an honor to record with him in Nashville, and we hope to host him in Colorado soon. — Broken Bow Support Broken Bow Sessions: Instagram:   / broken_bow__   TikTok:   / broken_bow_country   Facebook:   / broken-bow-country-61567135653892   Shop Broken Bow: https://brokenbowshop.com All rights reserved 2026 © Broken Bow Country
