Turned Around by Snow: Second Attempt on Mount Lawson (+ Full Route Commentary)

📅 Completed: September 30, 2026 (Partial Attempt) 🌧️ Conditions: Snow accumulation starting at 1,900 m altitude, knee-deep at times higher up around 2,500 m. Sunny, temperatures ranging from -2°C to 11°C. Our second visit in less than a week—we really wanted to get to the summit! We didn’t make it... but what a beautiful sunny day, and at least we had the right footwear this time! 🥾 Forecasts hadn't shown any snowfall since our last attempt four days ago, but when we got to the trailhead, I’d say our chances of reaching the top were only about 50/50. There was still quite a bit of lingering snow below the summit ridge.
