TOYOTA LAND CRUISER KEY PROGRAMMING WITH TANGO & VVDI PROG ✅ What You’ll Need: Tool/Item Purpose VVDI Prog To read/write EEPROM data Tango Programmer To generate a working key from dump New Smart Key OEM or aftermarket, compatible type Access to Smart ECU Usually inside dashboard Soldering tools For reading/writing the chip 🔍 STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE 🔹 Step 1: Remove and Identify the Smart ECU Located under the dashboard (passenger side, behind glove box or center stack). Mark down the part number (needed for selecting correct memory layout). Open the ECU carefully without damaging the PCB. 🔹 Step 2: Read the EEPROM Using VVDI Prog Locate EEPROM Chip Common chip types: 93C86, 93C66, 24C02, etc. Find the correct chip using a datasheet or identifier. Connect VVDI Prog Use the correct clip or solder directly to the chip. Select the correct chip type in VVDI Prog software. Read & Save the EEPROM Dump Save it as original.bin or similar. Create a backup before any modification. 🔹 Step 3: Load EEPROM Dump into Tango Open Tango Software Select Toyota → Land Cruiser → Smart Key Load the EEPROM dump Analyze the key slots Tango will show: Master key slots Used/empty slots Generate a New Key Insert a blank transponder (e.g., Toyota 4D or 80-bit key depending on your model). Write the new key to the blank chip. Save a modified EEPROM dump with new key added. 🔹 Step 4: Write Back Modified Dump to EEPROM Use VVDI Prog again. Load the modified dump from Tango. Write it to the same EEPROM chip. Verify the write was successful. 🔹 Step 5: Reassemble & Test Reinstall Smart ECU into the vehicle. Insert or approach with the new key: If the process was successful, the car should: Recognize the key. Enable ignition/start button. Test all key functions (lock/unlock/start). 🧠 Important Notes: Some ECUs (especially post-2013) may have encrypted EEPROMs or linked ID code boxes — if so, you may need to reset the ID box as well. Always back up original data before modification. If using an emulator (like LKP-04 or similar), you can bypass testing with a real key at first.
