Twenty tons of house on a single trailer - this is what Heavy Cargo looks like in American Truck Simulator.
Join me for a heavy cargo run from Oakland to Huron, California, driving the Kenworth T680 with a turnkey house construction load: one oversize unit, 19,958 kg and 100 m³ - a whole house taking up the entire trailer.
Join me for a heavy cargo run from Oakland to Huron, California, driving the Kenworth T680 with a turnkey house construction load: one single unit, roughly 20 tons, taking up the whole trailer.
Heavy cargo completely changes how the truck drives. Top speed is capped around 88 km/h, the load pushes fuel consumption to 30.6 L/100 km, and every junction, ramp and braking point has to be set up far earlier than with a normal trailer. 197 miles of California back roads and interstate with a house behind the cab - no cuts, no commentary, the full run from pickup to delivery.
Everything runs on realistic settings: realistic economy, realistic fuel and air simulation, traffic offences on, and advanced trailer coupling. Driven on a gamepad - no wheel, no pedals. All contracts run through my own virtual trucking company, Gnom Logistics, on VTLog (vtlog.net), where every haul is logged with real distances, fuel, wear and finances - come take a look at the company page and the job history if you want the numbers behind the videos.
