Combo consistency is key as DK, at some points i find myself using one wrong skill on a pack and everything is out of rythm. Try to focus all your damage on the center of the pack. (turn off aim assistance and aim on the ground for your ranged damage like Shift + LMB and Shift + E) I was also running into big respawn issues even on this rotation at points where i didn't have bird events so there is even more number potential as ridiculous as that sounds.
