July 28, 1980-Yankees vs. Twins (WINS Radio)

Fresh off a new batch of reel transfers! Here's a game from the Yankees 103 win AL East championship season that offers some insight into what a great year Rick Cerone had as the Yankee catcher being forced to follow Thurman Munson, and why Cerone remained a Yankee favorite for years afterwards even though he never had a year as good as 1980 again. At the start of the recording there's a brief WINS report mentioning the sale of Ed Figueroa to Texas and after the game a couple minutes on news events related to the death of the Shah of Iran. Phil Rizzuto, Frank Messer, Bill White and Fran Healy with the call on 1010-WINS (the last year they carried Yankee games).
