This video explains my observations regarding the setup of the GY-401 with subtrims. I was told that to get all the performance from the 401, subtrims should be used to set up for stable hover in rate mode after setting the slider for center shaft to get full deflection without binding in either direction.
I flicked into HH, powered the heli on, and the 401 moves the slider to where I just previously set the trim. Moving the rudder stick to the left and right, I'm observing FULL movement of the slider right up to the point I set with the limit pot dial on the 401. I can hover in HH and flip to rate mode mid-flight and retain a perfect hover with full pitch available in both modes.
This video was initially intended to prove a point on HeliFreak.com but it seems that people are actually learning from the video. While this was not intended to be instructional, I'm glad you guys are benefiting from watching the video. Since so many of you are having so much success, I though it only fair to post the link to where I learned this trick: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showth...
Happy Flying!!!
