Matthew 1:1-28 / Episode 1 / A Child is Born

Matthew 1:1–28 shows that Jesus is the promised Messiah through His royal genealogy from Abraham and David, and it tells of His miraculous birth through Mary by the Holy Spirit, fulfilling prophecy. Joseph, though confused and hurt, obeys God when an angel explains the child is from God, and he names Him Jesus, meaning Savior, because He will save His people from their sins. The passage emphasizes that Jesus is both fully human by lineage and fully divine by conception, revealing God’s plan to dwell with humanity as “Immanuel.”
