On the eve of the World Cup final, Manchester took to the streets to remind the world that football cannot be used to sportswash genocide. Why we marched today: ⚽️ Israel has murdered over 567 Palestinian footballers in Gaza, and 1,009+ athletes in total since Oct 2023. 🏟️ FIFA is actively protecting the Israel Football Association (IFA), allowing them to play matches on illegal settlements—despite historically suspending Apartheid South Africa and Russia for similar international law violations. 👟 Reebok has shamefully stepped in to sponsor the IFA right in the middle of a genocide. The dreams of Palestinian athletes—and their basic right to live and play freely—are being demolished by the Israeli occupation.
