Rasa Theory and Abhinavagupta

In the previous class, we saw the theory of Bhatta Nayaka. In this class, we are going to see the theory of rasa propounded by Abhinavagupta. In this lecture, we primarily depend upon two sources to understand the theory of rasa conceptualized by Abhinava, namely Abhinavabharati and Abhinava’s Locana or commentary on Anandavardhana’s Dhvanyaloka.
