After a long time of planning to explore something historic, this Sunday I finally visited the incredible Sindhudurg Fort, also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Fort, in Malvan, Maharashtra. 🏰🌊 Built in 1664 under the direction of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sindhudurg Fort is a historic sea fort located on an island off the coast of Malvan. Even after centuries, the fort still stands surrounded by the Arabian Sea, making it a truly amazing place to explore. I visited during a sunny and very hot summer day 🥵, but honestly, the experience was completely worth it. I can only imagine how beautiful this place looks during the monsoon, when the sea, clouds and greenery completely change the atmosphere. 🌧️🌊 The fort has a fascinating history, unique architecture and beautiful sea views. Exploring its walls, entrances and different parts of the fort gives you a glimpse into the history and planning behind this incredible structure.
