But God doesn't deal with us on the basis of our works. He deals with us on the basis of His grace. The cross is the greatest demonstration of God's grace. It reveals two incredible truths: The fact that Jesus willingly died for us shows how valuable we are to Him. The fact that Jesus had to die shows how serious our sin is and that we could never save ourselves. Through The Great Exchange at the cross, God, by His grace, gave us what we could never earn and never deserve. In Christ, we have received a new record, a new identity, and new blessings beyond what we could ever imagine.
