This calm, long-form science documentary follows a believable first household on the Martian surface. We start with the ground beneath its floor and the pressure boundary around its rooms, then follow the systems that would have to keep working every day: breathable air, water recovery, power and heat, radiation protection, dust control, food, health, repair, and supplies.
Real progress matters here. NASA's MOXIE experiment made oxygen from the Martian atmosphere, and water-recovery systems have achieved high recovery on the International Space Station. But a rover experiment and an orbital-station result are not yet a self-sustaining home on Mars. A durable habitat would need those processes, their maintenance, their margins, and the people living with them to work together far from immediate help.
This is not a forecast of a finished Mars city. It is an evidence-led look at the practical threshold between visiting Mars and making a place where ordinary tomorrow is possible.
