Hayden Smith WJHG-TV Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ IU Media School 2024 Borden SportsNet Co-Founder PxP Broadcaster --------------------------------- My two years of work with WJHG-TV (NBC) as a Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ has been an unforgettable experience and one that has transformed me into a better all-around sports journalist. I have compiled some of my best work from my two years in the sunshine state into my newest demo reel. Please contact me at haysmith926@gmail.com for any and all business inquires. --------------------------------- I've spent almost two years down in the Florida Panhandle covering a variety of athletics with high school and JUCO sports being at the forefront. I have gotten to opportunity to cover some of the top events in the state like: Daytona 500, FHSAA Football State Championship, FHSAA Baseball/Softball State Championship, FCSAA Region 8 Men's Women's Basketball State Championship, Florida State Men's Basketball, Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic, Billfish Open, IRONMAN, and even more! Graduated from the Indiana University Media School in Bloomington, Indiana. While there I served as a play-by-play broadcast for Big Ten Plus, 99.1 WIUX and WHCC 105.1 for a variety of different sports for Indiana University and Indiana high school basketball. I also served as a content manager for the Hoosier Network, a student-run online publication for all varsity sports at Indiana. I was a beat reporter for Indiana Men's Basketball during the 2023-24 season covering the team to their Big Ten Tournament run in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During my time in high school in Borden, Indiana, alongside one of my childhood friends we started up our school's first-ever broadcasting network called Borden SportsNet. After 6 years, the SportsNet has grown into one of the top broadcasting networks for an IHSAA affiliate school. Still today, I continue to help out behind the scenes, mentoring young broadcasters while making sure the network stays atop the ranks.
