I read 5 Cozy Indie Halloween Romances. I have questions.

I read five cozy indie Halloween romances, and I was left with questions about tropes, cozy genre conventions, and the books themselves. In this video, I discuss: 1) why witches are treated as nonhuman, 2) why there always seems to be a secret supernatural town, and 3) why these stories so often fall into a binary witches-versus-demons structure. Grab a drink, take a seat, and let’s overthink cozy romances. The books discussed in this video are: "Pumpkin Spice and Poltergeist", "Spookily Yours", "A Demon for Halloween", and "Halloween Ever After." (Brief mention of "Hallowpeen". Yes. You read that right.)
